Recently, Nintendo admitted that cloud gaming is likely to have a big impact on the industry, but in order to make this happen Nintendo should keep up with the technology, said Nintendo President in one of its statements.
Shigeru Miyamoto, veteran designer, during a Q&A with shareholders at the platform holder’s AGM discussed his views on streaming, virtual reality, and online play.
“I think that cloud gaming will become more widespread in the future, but I have no doubt that there will continue to be games that are fun because they are running locally and not on the cloud,” he said.
“We believe it is important to continue to use these diverse technical environments to make unique entertainment that could only have been made by Nintendo,” Miyamoto added.
Miyamoto, in one of the statements also added that we all know that the number of players on Nintendo and any other devices are increasing day by day. He revealed that the Super Mario Run had passed 300 million downloads.
Miyamoto said that we had reached a point where opportunities are expanding for us day by day, and we have to work on more and more unique projects to keep up with the pace.
We have managed to prove our self in every aspect and have not fallen behind with either VR or network services. Miyamoto also pointed towards the release of the Nintendo Labo VR kit. He said that the firm was experimenting with the product from years.
“That being said, if these changes increase the worldwide gaming population, that will just give us more opportunities with our integrated hardware and software development approach to reach people worldwide with the unique entertainment that Nintendo can provide,” Miyamoto assured
